Random Thoughts
Hey everyone!!
This will be my first of this type of blog… not topic really just, thoughts, chatting that’s all. I welcome you to read, enjoy .
Its July 22nd, 2024, I am currently sitting poolside as I watch/listen to my kids and their friends play pretend mermaids… This summer has been a rather great one, with Challenges… but mainly, mostly great. Tons of family time, my kids are getting older so sport camps, trainings and games have governed over our schedules. My Husband is no longer working in an environment that offers no breaks, emotionally, mentally and physically draining, and is currently with a company that has honesty, growth, family oriented and just positivity. So that right there is a blessing. I have been kicking ass in the business, connecting with more people… I honestly just have been feeling good.
Until I turn on the news and see yet another victim slain in her own home, by an officer she called to her home with expectation to provide help. A woman, age 36, mother of 2, a daughter, a friend, a loved one lost her life July 6th, after calling Illinois law enforcement with the fear of an intruder trying to get into her home. The video was disgusting, The officer (there were 2) who shot her, Sean Grayson arrived already irritated, completely lacking empathy and extremely short tempered. The other officer really didn’t say much.. but was incredibly disturbed about what he witnessed after the fact.
Somehow… after showing up to her place, and seeing that no one was intruding, the officers somehow landed in the home of the victim. Asking for driver’s license because it was what was needed for their “report”. Which he was full of shit, no report was needed for this incident. The Victim was on the phone with dispatcher… ALSO incredibly rude, irritated and wanted to get off of the phone, and would not stay on the phone for her comfort. The officer in fact hung up, even when the victim was visibly bothered.
It is clear the victim had some form of medical issues, she did have a medical tag on her hand from the hospital. The officer asked how she felt mentally… which isn’t an issue, however , as a trained officer a mental health person should of been contacted if he felt the need of her being a bit “off” instead… the lack of empathy and the annoyance and aggression amplified.
There are now, two large officers in her home, one visibly annoyed by being there, waiting outside her door “too long”, and just life she’s nervous, and now being asked to turn the fire off on the stove… normal. Usually officer would just do it himself and have her continue to look for her ID he was so determined to have her find… but instead he told her to do it. As she grabbed the pot to pour it out he moved back, the victim saw this movement and made a joke saying “why you moving back”. He replied I don’t want you burning me with hot water, in which she replied “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus”, and this is where the aggression capsized.
He drew his gun.
He shot her in the face.
He instructed the other officer not to “waste the med kit”
He stood over her body and called the Victim a ‘Crazy fucking Bitch’
He told officers she came at him
He. Had. No. Care.
Sean Grayson has been through 6 agencies in the last 4 years. He has entered a Non Guilty plea.
This is yet another name on a long long list of men and women of color who have suffered at the hands of horrible people who use their badge as a way to control, kill and manipulate the law and the POC around them. Had it not of been for the officer video… he would have lied, cheated and planted whatever needed to make this woman look like the aggressor. At the point we are at now, I can only pray for justice pray for my loved ones … and pray for myself.
We are all as a collective and personally going through spiritual transitions. Expect highs and lows, feeling of sadness that come out of no where. I really truly invite you all. to take moments daily to pour into yourself. The times we are in now… and the coming months will challenge us mentally, spiritually and physically… Protect yourself and find all the ways simple and easy to find gratitude, stillness and peace.
This Must Stop.
Rest in Power, the Beautiful Sonya Massey💜
